Our aim is to provide opportunities for girls and women to play club and representative netball and to advance their skill level in a friendly inclusive social environment from ages five through to seniors.
UBNC is only a new netball club having our very successful inaugural year in 2008, but with over 150 members we are already a very well established and well known club throughout the Woy Woy Peninsula and currently play in the Woy Woy Peninsula Netball Associations winter and summer competitions.
We aim to create a successful future for our club through innovative leadership, a strong commitment to skill development for players and the provision of development opportunities for our coaches.
Feel free to investigate our web site and contact any one of the committee members if you are interested in becoming involved in anyway with this wonderful club.

Nominations are open for coaches for the 2010 season. Club activities will be run throughout the year and all coaches and managers are invited to attend.
If you know anyone who is considering coaching please see one of the committee. All coaches appointed must hold or be willing to obtain an orientation to netball coaching certificate. All courses governed by the WWPNA and Netball NSW.
Managers will be appointed by team coaches.
Each team will have a weekly umpiring to fulfil. UBNC has introduced a fee of $40 per player to cover annual umpiring costs if players do not wish to fulfil their requirements and request an umpire. All game umpires will be remunerated. If you opt to umpire you own all penalties that apply for non attendance will be passed over the team and individual to pay.
We encourage our junior umpires and will assist their development with a senior runner (when applicable), attendance at umpiring clinics governed by WWPNA are also available. Juniors interested are asked to see their coach.
Duty umpiring is separate to weekly umpiring. Each team will have an estimated 2 duty umpires per season. Duty umpiring requires 2 team players to sign in at the tower on their designated day and time slot. If for some unfortunate reason another club does not fulfil their weekly umpiring duty the duty umpire will be called to umpire. In no circumstances would a duty umpire be given a game beyond their ability.
A $60.00 Club fine payable to UBNC will apply to any teams who do not fulfil their umpiring duty. The majority of this money is then payable to WWPNA. Junior’s duty umpire will be supplied for each team and covered in weekly costs. Seniors are to do their own duty umpire or make prior arrangements or individual fill-in.
Canteen duty will be required for all teams. Allocated day and time slot will be advised. Canteen duty requires setup and pack up of bins, post protectors and general rubbish around the courts. Teams will be required to provide 3 adults or children over 15 yrs to fulfil maximum 30 minutes canteen duty. Rosters will be drawn up and issued. Canteen Coordinator for Umina Beach Netball Club is Kathy Hulls.
Training days and times will be set by the team coach on the days allocated by WWPNA. Any parent or guardian who is not playing or affiliated with the club, which would like to assist with training, must become a non player member of the club. The cost is $30.00 & all proceeds are paid to Netball NSW to cover insurance.
Training is at the discretion of team coach and managers. Managers should arrange a calling tree to save costs. The coach has final decision over training and if decides to cancel should give plenty of notice to team manager, the manager will then proceed to ring 1st person on list, 1st person contacts second and so on until all players are notified.
If parents are not completely satisfied with their child’s coach, they are encouraged to approach an executive member to assist in resolving any conflict. UBNC have a conflict and complaints procedure to ensure the wellbeing of each member.
Games will be as usual in wet weather. Teams may agree to cease play at half-time and the score will stand. LTP will be decided by the coach on the day no later than 1 hour before the game. Extreme weather cancellations will be made by WWPNA on the morning of the game. Teams wishing to forfeit must contact an Executive as soon as possible, notice must be given to WWPNA and opposing team.
Umina Beach Netball Club anticipate holding monthly executive meetings in accordance with club constitution. 6 meetings in total must be held throughout the year and 3 meetings must be attended to obtain voting rights.
All UBNC committee and club members are encouraged to join Woy Woy Leagues Club for the purpose of attending meetings and other club related functions. Meeting are held at Woy Woy Leagues club and advised accordingly. Anyone interested in attending are to see a Committee member for details.
Fundraising is paramount to the sustainability of many non-profit organisations. All monies paid for fees do not in any way benefit UBNC and therefore we require support to continue the development of the club. Registration fees are paid direct to Netball NSW to cover insurance and playing fees for each player .
UBNC endeavours to keep our fundraising activities to a minium and will spread the activities we do throughout the year. We value your support and encourage any input to assist the club.
A Calendar of Events will be advertised on our website and newsletters once dates and events are confirmed.
